Griffin Theatre

Griffin is a Youth Theatre for young people aged between twelve and seventeen. Griffin grew out of Bedminster Youth Theatre, which was created specifically for a promenade performance on East Street, Bedminster on July 23. You do not need to live in Bedminster to join Griffin.

Griffin meets weekly on Monday evenings and when you age out from Griffin, you may be offered a spot in Phoenix Theatre. Griffin is free to join, and an open-access group, there are no auditions – but our funding means we need to support young people who face barriers to participation, and ask that you identify with one of the following:

You have low self-esteem or low confidence
You find it hard to make friends and/or are isolated
You struggle with their mental or physical health
You struggle in school due to learning difficulties or neurodiversity
You are care experienced (looked after children)
You are a young carer
You are a member of a community that faces prejudice (incl but not limited to the LGBTQIA+ community, people that identify as BAME or global majority, travelling community, disabled community, working class)
You are from a lower-income family
English isn’t you first language
You can’t access other paid groups easily due to finances, transport or a barrier you have identified not listed here.
