We pride ourselves on providing a warm welcome to all and hope you feel at home here. On this page, we have laid out the answers to some common queries. For more in-depth specifications of our building, please see our full Access Statements.

What food and drink is on offer?

We have a small, flexible café that we use for many different activities. When performances are on, we serve refreshments and snacks and may serve alcohol in the evening. On Thursday mornings, our café opens as a Creative Wellbeing Café from which we serve simple hot lunches, homemade cakes and hot drinks. During our group creative activities, we always have basic refreshments of hot drinks and biscuits available.

Is there a waiting area?

Our Café Bar is a place you can wait if you arrive early. This will be open if you have come for a show, or if it is Thursday morning and the Creative Wellbeing Café is running.

Will it be busy?

Our audience numbers differ for shows but staff can make educated guesses for you. If you’re concerned about crowds and are unsure, please just get in touch with us and we can try our best to answer this for you depending on the show in question. We can also work to find ways to make you comfortable whilst here, such as finding a quiet space for you to sit in, or helping you to find a seat in the theatre.

Can I leave my coat and bag somewhere?

We have a few coat stands in the foyer and Café Bar you are welcome to use but these are not watched by a member of staff so leaving your belongings here is for your own discretion.

Do you have gender neutral bathrooms?

Alongside our men’s and women’s bathrooms, we also have a gender neutral self-contained, accessible toilet with hand rails and a sliding door. For further details about disabled access to our toilets, please see our full access statements.

Can I pray while at acta?

We do not have a dedicated prayer room, but if you ask a member of staff we can arrange for you to use a quiet, private room to pray.

I am a nursing parent, will I be welcome to breastfeed?

You are welcome to breastfeed your child whilst at acta and we hope you feel comfortable to do so. If you’d prefer a quiet space, please see a member of staff and we can arrange that for you.
