We are recruiting two community connectors for a short-term project in Bedminster, working for 13 days between June – October 2024 (flexible hours with key dates to be arranged with successful candidates)
The role:
The community connectors will be responsible for engaging members of the local community (Redcliffe and Bedminster) in sharing stories and taking part in creative workshops that work towards an exhibition in Bedminster Library, to be designed with Knowle West Media Centre, in partnership with Filwood Community Centre and Library.
Fee:
£2275 (calculated as £175 per day for 13 days of work over 4 months)
We also have a limited budget to cover expenses that arise as part of the role, be that travel or other access costs.
Who we are looking for:
We have identified that men and people of the global majority (people from black, Asian, mixed, and other ethnic groups who are often racialised as ‘ethnic minorities’) are underrepresented in our current programme of work therefore we are particularly keen to hear from men (from any background) and people of the Global Majority (of any gender).
Application Criteria
We are looking for applicants that are:
- Confident talking to and working with a wide range of people including vulnerable and marginalised people
- Passionate about seeking out less heard stories and histories
- Proactive, able to tap into existing networks as well as building connections with people who are yet to engage in community activity
- Desired but not essential: We are particularly interested in hiring someone who is based in Bedminster or Redcliffe, or has a strong connection to this location
