Job Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Theatre Facilitator to join our team for an exciting primary school’s theatre project. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with children, have a keen interest in theatre, and possess excellent communication skills. This role involves supporting the lead facilitator in delivering engaging and educational theatre sessions in three primary schools in Bristol.
Contract & Fee:
This will be a freelance contract working four half days per week during Bristol term-times in the academic year 2024/25, with some additional planning and evaluation.
The fee for the work is £100 per session (half day)
We are open to job sharing on this role – so applications are still welcome if you cannot commit to all four half days.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist the Lead Theatre Facilitator in planning and delivering theatre workshops to primary schools.
• Help manage classroom dynamics, ensuring a positive and inclusive environment for all students.
• Provide individual support to students as needed, helping them engage with the material and develop confidence.
• Participate in the evaluation and feedback process to continually improve the project.
Requirements
• A strong interest in theatre and drama, especially in an educational context.
• Previous experience working with children, ideally in a creative or educational setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility and adaptability to work in different school environments.
Desirable
• Experience in facilitating or assisting with theatre or drama workshops.
• A background in drama, performing arts, or education is desirable but not essential.
• Familiarity with the primary school curriculum.
