Create a play in four days
We are running three weeks of drama fun in this coming Summer holiday! If you’re aged between 8 and 16 then We would love you to join us for four days of creative theatre play.
Over the four days, the children and young people will play a range of drama games and improvisation exercises to help them create their own original theatre show. This will be performed at the acta Theatre, with costumes, props, and music, and will be presented to their family and friends on their final afternoon.
Monday 27th – Thursday 30th July: Ages 12-16
Monday 10th – Thursday 13th August: Ages 8-12
Monday 17th – Thursday 20th August: Ages 8-12
We’ve made theatre this way with young people for over forty years – and time and time again we’ve seen this approach create a safe and supportive environment so that the group will develop skills such as co-operative working, communication, creative thinking, problem solving and building initiative.
All young people will be provided with a freshly cooked lunch that has been especially designed to support the nutrition of the group whilst being culturally appropriate. Please provide dietary requirements when you book.
Places cost £42.50 per day – but we have lots of free places, funded by HAF, for young carers and children eligible for free school lunches.
We ran this programme in the Spring holiday, and one of our young people said “I 1000% want to do this again in the summer!”, while a parent said “It was brilliant how they were able to perform in a theatre with proper lights and music”.
