  5. Sudafest Comedy Night

16th July 2022 to

Join us for a night of rip-roaring laughter from two Sudanese comedians and a Sudanese rapper, and warmly hosted by Mohamed Kamal.

Mamoun Elagab’s natural flair has made him a winner and finalist of numerous comedy competitions over the years. Chortle said “Chilled composure and a fascinating back-story… a comic who you’d like to hear more from.”

Mohammed Terwis is a Sudanese-Dutch actor and satirist. He is best known for his repertoire of satirical characters that expose the many contradictions at the heart of Sudanese society. In this performance, Mohammed Terwis uses humour to explore the sensitive themes of migration and asylum through keen observation and powerful allegory, he invites his audience to look again at what it really means to be a refugee in Europe.

YK is an artist who is originally from New York. However, he was actually raised in Oxford, UK, with Sudanese roots leading to a truly diverse international background. The moment he started creating music, he set out to pursue his passion for hip-hop by mastering his craft, inspired by icons such as 50 Cent, Tupac Shakur, Bob Marley and more. As a result, he built a unique approach to the genre; which isn’t just about that classic “golden age” sound, but also allowing other influences to creep in, including neo-soul, Afro-Beat, and other styles. His latest single, Ballin’ is a perfect example of his unique combination of different styles, converging into something special.

Age guidance: This is edgy comedy so discretion is advised – we’d suggest 15+
